Oxbow Lake Association Annual Meeting Minutes

Minutes:

Greg thanked all the members for attending and then explained the role of the association.

He noted the high-water level on the lake due to a beaver dam in the Highway B culvert.

The County cleared the obstruction, and the water is now down 5”. Traps set. Thank you to Stu and others who helped with discovery, communication and debris removal.

507 Ordinance (Wake Boat Exception for Oxbow) – Exception still in place until DNR review.

Secretary Report – Otto read 2023 Meeting Minutes. Ray motioned; Erik approved.

Treasure report – Greg read review of accounts for Sadie (not present).

Membership – 2023 went from 30 to 70 members. 2024 has 40 members to date.

Several members commented that hard copy newsletters were not received this year.

Bob suggested a survey and an option to opt out of the hard copy to save money. Dave Brach mentioned shoreline markers to designate members. Another mentioned using GPS for buoy/rock pile locations.

Nominations open – Erik nominated Bretta for Secretary (surprise). Art Adams is interested in learning more about the Board.

Dr. Dean Premo presentation – 15 years of lake studies thanks to Otto. Dean showed a very information slideshow and will provide online copies to share. Study results will take some time but noted that Oxbow Lake is pristine and in good health! He also mentioned several ways to keep it in good health. Survey results will be shared once received.

Meeting Adjourned – A motion was made to adjourn and seconded.
